Title: | Active line shaping of a single phase rectifier using the switching function technique | Authors: | Marouchos, Christos | Keywords: | Diodes;Switching circuits;Electromotive force;Phase modulation;DC-to-DC converters | Category: | Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering | Field: | Engineering and Technology | Issue Date: | 2008 | Publisher: | IEEE | Source: | 13th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC, 2008, Poznan, Poland | Abstract: | Operation of the Active Line Shaping Single Phase Rectifier with the switching instances pre-calculated is presented. The required input current at unit power factor to feed the dc load is set. The Switching Function Technique is applied to derive the necessary modulation function of the dc side switch. The analysis leads to the calculation of the parameters of the modulation function and the switching instances of the dc side switch. An analytical equation of the line current is also derived. Optimisation is then possible in order to achieve the minimum switching losses by minimising the switching instances for the best quality of input line current. The results are supported by PSPICE simulations. | URI: | http://ktisis.cut.ac.cy/handle/10488/7255 | DOI: | 10.1109/EPEPEMC.2008.4635554 | Rights: | © 2008 IEEE | Type: | Conference Papers |
