Title: Design of a multistorey car-park

Authors: Mardacofta, Maria

Abstract: The design of a multistory car park has been attempted inthis project. The slabs, beams, columns and footings design calculationsand considerations are presented, which were based onB58110. Also the design was based on aseismic requirementsas Cyprus lies on a highly seismic area. Part of thecalculations presented were done using the help of theprogram pframe that was run on an IBM PC compatiblecomputer. The purpose of this project was to involve the author in thedesign of buildings inalternative solution of the car park problem to the Municipality of Nicosia.

Description: Διπλωματική εργασία, Υπουργείο Εργασίας και Κοινωνικών Ασφαλίσεων, Ανώτερο Τεχνολογικό Ινστιτούτο

Title: Highway maintance

Authors: Constantinou Chr, Constantinos

Abstract: The first chapter includs comments about themaintenance management framework. The second and third chapters cover items necessaryfor the Highway distress patterns and the maintenanceinventories.Chapters 4-5-6 includes flexible pavement design, astructural aproach to it and to empirical and analyticaloverlay design that have been suggested as it is felt thatsome of these concepts may prove useful when faced withspecific problems that may beencountered in the Cyprusroad network. The last two chapters covers the mix manufacturingand the cost control. This project identily how a more rational approach tomaintenance can be carried out using local experience andideas. This project highlight the proplems of managingmaintenance.

Description: Διπλωματική εργασία, Υπουργείο Εργασίας και Κοινωνικών Ασφαλίσεων, Ανώτερο Τεχνολογικό Ινστιτούτο
