Apostolos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics, School of Engineering and Technology of Cyprus University of Technology since 2022 was a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Marine Remote Sensing Group, Department of Marine Sciences, University of the Aegean studying the use of UAS on Geovisualization and mapping. Additionally, he was post-doctorate researcher with a scholarship funded by the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) with the title "Detection and Mapping Plastic Litter in the Coastal Zone Using Unmanned Aerial Systems and Deep Learning Techniques». His research interests include​ Scale issues in Geovisualization, 3D Visualization, UAS in Geovisualization, Cartography, Geoinformatics, Mapping Spatiotemporal Phenomena, Numerical Algorithms in Cartograph, AR-VR geovisualizations.
Apostolos is a Cartographer and UAV Specialist working in mapping spatiotemporal phenomena in 2 or 3D. Experienced Geoinformatics Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the research industry. Skilled in UAS spatial data acquisition, Lecturing, Geography, Cartography, Geovisualization, and Data Analysis.
